In a previous blog post, we noted the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal injuries (MSI), also commonly called sprain and strain injuries , in Canada and the United States. With more than 1/3rd of reported lost time claims coming from MSI, they represent a serious occupational health and safety (OHS) issue. Not surprisingly, within Canada, there are regulations related to occupational MSI. However, OHS is regulated at a provincial level, so specific enforcement of regulations to reduce MSI vary between each province.
