My sincerest apologies for the tardiness of our blog. Things are still rocking at EWI. Erin is on holidays and Linda is in high demand for ergonomic training courses. I’m glad. It’s been awhile since we’ve conducted any of our Principles of Industrial Ergonomics or Principles of Office Ergonomics and it’s a nice change of pace. Furthurmore, it gives us an opportunity to re-vamp, update and add new life to the courses. That’s EWI – all about keeping up on what’s going on out there and constantly adapting our programs to reflect current standards and address hot topics. A rolling stone gathers no moss is our motto.
Other changes going on? We’ve hired a new ergonomist to help Donald provide faster turn-around times for ergonomic services and to enhance our services across the continent. Kirsten Willms joined our team the middle of April and I truly believe she is going to be a great benefit to the organization. Kirsten didn’t take long to impress me with her “I’m on top of it” approach to getting up and running. She’s well organized, very personable, and pays close attention to detail. She came up to the Edmonton office last week and had a chance to meet the Edmonton crew and we are all happy she’s joined us. She even baked us cookies! Definitely into cooking like the rest of us. Soon we’ll update our website with her bio so you can read all about her experience in the ergonomic field.
In between research and putting together training manuals, I’ll log in tomorrow and let you know about the presentations that Linda conducted for two Alberta conferences.
